Some of you might remember that last year, YoYoGames give out thousands copies of GameMaker: Studio Standard for a limited time. This months, GameMaker: Studio Standard become free again.
As of 6 June 2014, GameMaker Standard will become free 'forever'. With that, you can download GameMaker anytime. Also, they added a 'splash' screen for games make will standard versions. I believe that it is because of the success of last year promotion.
GameMaker Standard is limted to only window export. If you want your games to be available for other platforms, you must upgrade your GameMaker to Professional or Master.
